Safety. Integrity. Results.

The docket

Three jobs. Done in order.

  1. 01

    Charge the cases that land

Felony violence and people who keep coming back go first. A file should move. A victim should hear what happens next.

  2. 02

    Keep families in the room

If someone is hurt, the office calls back. Plain English on the process. A prosecutor who still shows up on the hearing date.

  3. 03

    Run a clean shop

Discovery on time. No favors on charging. The 13th Judicial District should feel the same on a Tuesday as it does after an election.

A break-in on Willow, a wreck on I-40, a kid who will not go back to school. Putnam County is not a talking point. It is a place that needs a prosecutor who still lives here.

Calder Boone

Who he is

Cookeville-born. Prosecutor for this district.

Calder Boone grew up off Spring Street, two blocks from the Tennessee Tech campus. Political science there. Night classes at Nashville School of Law while he clerked. He married Lane. They have two kids, Willa and Sam, and a house that still backs up to Cane Creek.

He spent six years as an assistant district attorney in the 13th Judicial District, then opened a small practice so he could try the cases he believed in and still make pickup. He is asking for the office because charging decisions should be made by someone who already knows this docket.

From the district

What colleagues say when the recorder is off.

“Calder reads the file, calls the victim back, and does not grandstand. That is the whole job.”
Rhea Colton Assistant District Attorney, Overton County
“I have sat across from him and sat next to him. Either way the work is honest and the clock is respected.”
Ellis Ward Attorney, Cookeville
“Putnam County will get a prosecutor who already knows the docket and the people on it.”
June Harlan District Attorney, 9th Judicial District
